about

All compositions by Nino, 2016
Recorded Live at Islington Mill, Salford.

Nino is artists and musicians Aliyah Hussain & John Powell-Jones.

Part of Manchester's vibrant musical underground, co-ordinating activities from Salford's Islington Mill, EGG is two semi-improvised, instrumental long-form pieces; the heat-haze shimmer from a melting pot of electronic drones and psychedelic ritual.

Following acclaimed live sets at Cafe OTO and Supernormal Festival, and sought-after limited-run solo cassettes on Sacred Tapes label, EGG forms the first of Aliyah and John's fully collaborative works.

'The pair who executed these two pieces understand this perfectly and waste no time getting us out into the wilderness. We drift like dandelion seeds on the wind through an intricately designed maze of echoes, sustained notes, reverb and delicious emptiness. Sequences rise up out of the murk and sometimes even blossom into individual notes which move back and forth between the vapors.' - Santa Sangre Magazine

'EGG travels through space, sounds guided by specs of brightness light years away. This live composition breathes cosmic particles as the infinite drone is harbored below the surface.' - Lost in a Sea of Sound
